December 11, 1926 200 Years of Transportation

As the Town of Covert Bicentennial winds down, it is interesting to look back at some of the highlights. Celebrations, education, fellowship, new friendships are all part of the year.
In September the Interlaken Historical Society and TOC200 committee hosted the 200 Years of Transportation event. This event showcased many of the means of travel used over the years.
At one point or another, Dewitt in his diaries has mentioned most of the means of travel, trains, carriages, horseback, boats, cars, trucks, bicycles, skis, snowshoes and airplanes.
Today several of those methods are more recreational than necessary, and some are no longer even available without a drive of an hour or more.
To all those who helped make the 200 Years of Transportation an event to be remembered, thank you.
To all those who help preserve the history of transportation in any way, thank you.
